We are not just molding clay; we are shaping a conscious and vibrant community committed to the joy of transcendental growth, creation and connection.

WHO WE SERVE

ETHOS

At Claydence, we embrace the transformative power of clay to build a vibrant community. Whether you're a corporate professional, a creative seeking connection, or a parent looking for a unique experience, our ethos centers on providing a safe, inclusive space for all. We break away from traditional barriers, where participants can choose from a menu of experiences, allowing them to explore clay at their own pace.

WHAT OUR COMMUNITY IS SAYING…

Valentia

With its high ceiling, floor-to-ceiling windows, and calming blue walls, Claydence is a spacious and therapeutic space for pottery throwing. I really enjoyed having a quiet place where I could be creative and focus on my throwing. The studio's openness, with a clear view of the outdoors, offers a peaceful and quick escape from daily busyness. Classes are detailed yet provide enough freedom to explore. Elizabeth has truly outdone herself in creating this unique, safe, and therapeutic space where one can express themselves freely. I'm looking forward to spending more time in this studio—enjoying my throwing practice, learning, and meeting new friends.

I had the most relaxing, fun, and tranquil time at Claydence during their introductory wheel-throwing workshop. Elizabeth, our workshop facilitator, taught us the techniques for making bowls. She was very patient and made us feel supported throughout our pottery journey. The experience was grounding, and we left the workshop feeling calm and happy with our creations!

I attended a painting session at Claydence with my friend, where we painted our own pottery cups. The studio is cozy and offers a relaxing atmosphere, and I loved that it’s a barefoot studio! We received instructions on how the paints work and chose the vessels we wanted to decorate. Although we booked a 2-hour slot, Elizabeth was generous with the time and allowed us to continue painting until we were satisfied with our pieces. It was a calming session, and my friend and I enjoyed chatting in the quiet space. We couldn’t resist adding another vessel to paint—there were so many options! Overall, the experience was fantastic, and I’m excited to see how our fired pieces turn out. The process was genuinely fun and relaxing. Claydence also offers a small ceramic cup take-home set, which you can buy to paint at home and bring back for firing. If you’re looking for a cozy, no-pressure activity with friends or family, this is the place for you! I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

If you're looking for a cozy space to escape the hustle and bustle (even if just for a few hours), Claydence is the place to be. Located at Crawford Lane, the area has an unmistakably peaceful vibe—something unique to these older neighborhoods in SG. I’ve been attending Claydence's Open Studio program, and I love how spacious and welcoming the environment is (the air conditioning is definitely a plus). Everyone is so friendly, and Elizabeth has been incredibly generous in sharing her knowledge and experience with me. Overall, this is a great place to reconnect with your inner child—to create, express, and feel, without the pressure of focusing on the final product. Even if you’re new to pottery, you’ll be in the good hands of the friendly and trustworthy staff, Elizabeth and Javier.

Our team of 12 recently participated in a two-hour pottery handbuilding activity, and it was a fantastic experience. Javier, our facilitator, was incredibly helpful and friendly, guiding us through each step of the process with ease. Elizabeth, who handled our email correspondence, was equally impressive with her patience and clarity in addressing all our questions. Overall, the experience was highly enjoyable and well-organized. The studio is very clean and air-conditioned—much needed given the recent weather conditions. We highly recommend this activity for team bonding, and we can't wait to see our final products! For your information, Claydence also offers other programs such as parent-child activities and meditation & clay workshops, all at very reasonable prices. I would love to return to try them! Please check them out and feel free to inquire, as I'm sure they can tailor something to suit your needs.

I first came to Claydence to practice my pottery skills. The studio is clean, bright, and very inviting. Elizabeth and Javier are always ready to assist anyone who comes to the studio to practice. Recently, I attended Elizabeth's Yoga for Healing. It was my first yoga class with her, and it was truly a different experience. Before this, I had only practiced yoga in more commercialized studios, where the focus is always on doing as much as possible within the hour. However, Elizabeth’s approach, with a focus on slowing things down, allowed me to connect more deeply with my breath and body. I would highly recommend Claydence if you are looking to explore pottery or yoga!

I attended a Wheel Throwing Guided Trial Class, and the studio was clean and serene. Instructor Javier provided a thorough introduction to pottery and a detailed demonstration, ensuring clarity in his explanations. There was ample time for guided hands-on practice, making it great for first-timers! During the initial tries, Javier patiently guided us through every step and was very encouraging, which helped build our confidence. Once we were comfortable, he allowed us time and space to practice and express our own creativity. Overall, it was an enjoyable evening well spent, and I was thrilled to bring home my own handcrafted and functional piece of art!

Claydence is the third (or fourth, if you consider the School of Clay Art) pottery studio I’ve visited in Singapore, and I love this space the most. It feels much more intimate than the others—not industrial at all—allowing me to lose track of time and simply play. The instructors are incredibly chill; they don’t rush you or impose any expectations, which makes the learning process far more enjoyable. They also use porcelain instead of regular clay, so it’s softer and requires less strength to throw. Just look at how the work glows!

Nestled inside the iconic Crawford Lane estate is Claydence Atelier. The space is open and bright, featuring floor-to-ceiling glass windows and doors, and it’s air-conditioned, creating a buzzing community atmosphere. The studio uses a porcelain mix that is already de-aired in the pugmill, allowing you to try throwing without the need for wedging. I love the environment that Elizabeth has created—her pedagogy cultivates mindfulness and intention. Come with an open mind, and I hope you feel as rejuvenated as I did. Lastly, you can also find your MUDTOOLS here!

I went for my first wheel throwing pottery experience at Claydence, and it was a delight. The friendly and experienced instructor, Javier, took the time to show me around the studio, helping me familiarize myself with the space. He demonstrated step by step how to operate the wheel, set it up, and use the various tools needed to craft my first pottery piece. His explanations were detailed, covering both the techniques and the mechanics behind them, along with some theoretical knowledge of pottery. After the demonstration, I had the chance to apply what I had learned to my very first piece. Javier periodically checked in to ensure I was on the right track and offered help when I struggled. There was also time to practice making another piece, and he was just as supportive. I highly recommend this studio to anyone looking to try wheel throwing for the first time. The instructor is fantastic and truly passionate about his work. The space is comfortable, beautifully decorated, air-conditioned, clean, and serene. I’m grateful to have found such a great pottery studio for my first experience. Thank you for the wonderful time!

I came across Claydence Atelier by chance on Instagram and was quickly connected with Elizabeth. I was seeking a somatic approach to expressive arts and felt drawn to clay work as a medium. The studio has a bright and calming interior, and the energy is relaxed and positive. During our session, Elizabeth guided me through the basics of working with clay and allowed ample time for me to explore on my own. I highly recommend Claydence Atelier and working with Elizabeth to anyone interested in a welcoming space to explore their inner landscape through sensory-based arts. You also have the option to take home what you create after a couple of weeks for a minimal charge.

I attended the 1.5-hour preschool hand-building workshop with my 5+ year old daughter last weekend. She was thrilled to explore the clay texture and shape it with the little cookie cutters provided. She watched in amazement as Teacher Nidhi demonstrated the use of the pottery wheel, turning it into a cup, while giving each child a chance to touch and feel the clay. It was a fun sensory experience for my daughter, and she was extremely pleased to return with her finished products (all seven of them!). Elizabeth has created a safe space for both children and parents to unleash their creativity and bond. Thank you for a lovely time!

I'm just starting out on my pottery journey this year, and I’ve always been curious about why Mudtools are so well-liked and how they differ from the usual kit tools. When I learned that Claydence brought in Mudtools, I knew it was my chance to try them for myself. The sponges are slimmer than the typical yellow ones, which helped me tremendously in feeling the clay and distributing pressure while pulling walls. They also hold less water, which improved my water management, as I tended to flood my clay with the kit sponge. Definitely a good investment! The studio space at Claydence is amazing, and Elizabeth and Javier are welcoming and lovely! Thank you for bringing in MUDTOOLS; I look forward to spending more time creating at the studio!

I went with a small group of friends to try the two-hour guided wheel throwing, and it was a wonderful learning and practical experience. Elizabeth ensured that the organization from start to finish made it a memorable and fun activity. She provided us with options to consider and shared links in advance to give us an overview and direction. Javier, our instructor, was knowledgeable, experienced, patient, and supportive. He explained the steps clearly and helped us troubleshoot when necessary to achieve our desired results. I found it to be a relaxing, almost meditative experience, and I can see its therapeutic benefits. I would recommend this for families, friends, and corporate events. The studio space is beautiful and peaceful, making it perfect for decompressing. Bring along a friend you haven't seen in a while; it's a great opportunity to catch up while creating memorable moments and art!

My son joined the kid clay workshop with his friend (my son is 5 years old and his friend is 6). Last time I attended a class at this studio, he came along and had a look, and he expressed interest in joining a session of his own, so we decided to give it a try this time. I believe the kid clay workshop is great for developing mental strength, calming the mind, and building concentration. My son enjoyed the workshop, so we are considering attending regularly. :)

It was my first time using a potter's wheel by myself, and it was a fantastic experience. The owner is really chill and knowledgeable, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the process. The studio space is comfortable, making it easy to relax and try your hand at pottery at your own pace. It’s a fun, therapeutic activity that is definitely worth trying!

I followed them from SOCA @ Ubi to Claydence, and at this point, my experience has evolved beyond just wheel throwing. It’s a lovely space to practice wheel throwing and other clay works, but there’s an added layer of comfort here that allows me to share and confide in the friends I’ve made over the year. We talk about anything and everything, and I love Claydence for that. The networks and connections established here are truly supportive! Elizabeth has created an environment at Claydence that is non-judgmental, calming, and healing, where you can practice your art with like-minded people. I am certainly not quiet when I practice, but they don’t mind me speaking my mind either. No regrets!

I came across Claydence Atelier while searching for pottery classes on Google. Its central location and schedule fit my requirements perfectly. I signed up for a session with my granddaughter, and I was very impressed by Teacher Elizabeth’s patience and clarity in guiding my 6-year-old. Both of us were able to hand-make and complete a cup and bowl, respectively, to our great satisfaction. The calm ambiance, soothing music, and clean studio created a serene environment that allowed our creative selves to emerge. We really enjoyed our session and are looking forward to returning for another round of hand-building or to try out wheel throwing.

Rebecca (Reeb)

A lovely, chill space! Elizabeth and Javier were very welcoming. During the open studio session, once we were shown where the materials and tools were, we could comfortably create at our own pace. There was a mix of people learning and individuals working independently, which made it feel like a great place for community to grow. It’s a perfect spot for a one-off session or for classes that require lower commitment and frequency.

I had a therapeutic experience today at Claydence. The ambience was perfect—naturally lit, with a view of lush greenery, and clean despite us working with clay. Most importantly, the pottery experience was incredibly mentally relaxing. You absolutely must try it!

Joey Koh

Claydence Atelier is a new pottery studio that is bright and clean. We had our first experience with clay on the wheel, and it was so much fun molding bowls and cups and painting our creations! Elizabeth patiently answered my questions regarding the workshop and birthday celebration. Teacher Javier was very patient in guiding the kids. We had a great time here. Thank you!

I had a great trial open studio session yesterday at Claydence for an attractive rate of $25 per person, with firing excluded. I love the convenience of the location—just a few minutes' walk, fully sheltered from Lavender MRT. The theme of blue skies and mountain scapes is present throughout the studio! The setup is comfortable, and all the pottery tools are easily accessible. We arrived 15 minutes before our scheduled time (3 PM) and weren't rushed out at 5 PM.

Megan Ng

Amazing and beautiful pottery experience! The environment was cozy and calming, and Elizabeth and Javier were patient and friendly. Overall, it’s a comfortable space for individuals or corporate groups to engage in team building. The session also encourages you to try different techniques and appreciate the beauty of pottery.

This place is a hidden gem, quietly nestled just outside the city center. I’ve been attending their open studio sessions regularly, and there’s no place like this to chill, chat, and enjoy coffee with a clay-loving community. Gentle guidance on clay techniques is available if you need help, but Claydence focuses more on the process of making rather than the final product. Another plus for me: there’s great food nearby, and quite a lot of it!

Mirah Syira

I worked with Claydence to organize a team bonding activity for my company. Elizabeth was very responsive, accommodating, and a pleasure to work with. Her passion for pottery was evident in her presentation, and everyone on my team enjoyed the hand-building session we had. Thank you!

Tan Xing Wei

Javier was an excellent instructor who made first-time potters like us feel comfortable experimenting with clay. He provided clear instructions and made the process so much fun. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our 2-hour experience at Claydence. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to give pottery a try!

Claydence Atelier was recommended by a friend when we were looking for a pottery workshop. It was a great experience with both hand building and wheel throwing, and we enjoyed it immensely. The trainer was fun-loving, knowledgeable, skillful, calm, and patient. I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested!

Samantha Yong

A quaint and chill (literally, haha) studio space in town where you can lose yourself for a few hours. There are plenty of quality tools and equipment available, so you only need to bring your own apron. Elizabeth was very welcoming and explained the ins and outs of the space. I went for their unguided open studio trial, which is great for both those with some background in ceramics and complete beginners. It’s a wonderful opportunity to get your hands dirty, try out the studio's clay mix (a combination of white stoneware and porcelain), and simply enjoy the experience.

I went to the ceramic painting workshop at Claydence with a friend! It was our first time using underglaze to paint ceramics, and Elizabeth was very patient in guiding us and explaining each step. The space is cozy, comfortable, and easily accessible. Before long, we were engrossed in the creative process, and it was a therapeutic experience. I'm excited to see how our cups turn out and look forward to more workshops at Claydence!

I spent a Saturday morning at Claydence for a kids' clay class. My son (5 years old) loved trying out the wheel and experimenting with stamping on clay. Parents were welcome to get involved, so we had a great time bonding with him while he explored a new material. The studio is spacious and bright—great vibes all around! I highly recommend it!

Rebecca Yip

Our group of nine had a lovely time at the basic hand-building workshop with Elizabeth! The space was calming and inviting, with plenty of room for our crafting. The meditative approach allowed us to trust the process and let our creativity shine. It was a wonderful experience!

Jeanne Tai

A calm, clean space. My daughter really enjoyed the sensory clay session!
